The Umbrella Foundation would like to offer you a chance to get some real on-ground experience working on this unique Australian musical production from the planning and promotional stages through to the final show for the new 2023 Melbourne Season at Chapel off Chapel Theatre in Prahran. 

We have several Front of House volunteer and usher roles and one Front of House Coordinator role available for the 2023 season (one in Melbourne and one in Sydney – dates are noted on our website). We anticipate that the key volunteers will also be available to commence with us in the next few weeks, one to two days a week in the office to work on the behind-the-scenes marketing, planning and promotion with our friendly and welcoming team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting office team with marketing, promotions, planning, newsletters, opening nights, calls and bookings
• Ordering, stock and merchandise process management and sales at each performance prior, during intervals and at the end of each show (mainly books, albums and programs and other collateral)
• Daily stocktake and pack up
• Liaison with Cast and Crew and assistance BOH where required
• Liaison and daily check-in with Theatre Staff
• Assisting with welcoming VIPs and other tasks for Opening Night and other special events
• Front of House welcome, the seating of guests and distribution of Programs
• Engagement, scheduling and management of Volunteer Ushers (Co-ordinator Role only)
• Additional key event roles

Driftwood The Musical is run by the Charity Umbrella Foundation, dedicated to telling real stories that matter. This is an ideal role to complement your studies because it will offer first hand learning opportunities and work experience for those studying music, theatre, arts, entertainment and theatre production and those with a passion for the stage.
